As per the CPD guidelines, per year, the maximum that you can earn is 15 units, regardless of the units you earned. And in the 3-year period of having the PRC license, you need to complete at least 15 units each year (unless otherwise more units are required by the CPD Council).
Yes, it is mandatory as required by law and by the Professional Regulations Commission. It is simply not about compliance, but to be an adept of your professional skills and knowledge, and to be current in the practice of your profession. Internationally, CPD is required in almost all countries, especially in the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada
Getting CPD units should not be expensive. With Petrosphere, we usually offer free seminars that may have CPD units, otherwise, you can submit them as a self-directed learning activity. There are training courses and seminars that are provided for free and are being sponsored by institutions, however, your employer can also cover the expenses for you to earn your CPD units
You can file it as a self-directed learning and submit it in the PRC CPD Council. You need to pay a processing fee of Php 500.00 per course when you submit it at the PRC and the council will determine the units earned within 60 days.
You are required to present a proof of identification and we recommend a photocopy of your PRC license. Submit this upon verification of your attendance before the start of the training or seminar.
